Faithe Herman honored with a Handprint Ceremony at Theatre Box

Actor and San Diego native, Faithe Herman, known for her roles in the award-winning “This Is Us” and the recently released film, “Shazam!,” was honored with a handprint ceremony in the longstanding tradition of TCL Chinese Theatres at Theatre Box®, the new luxury theatre, dining and entertainment complex located at 701 Fifth Ave. in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Herman’s “This Is Us” cast mates Mackenzie Hancsicsak, Lonnie Chavis and Lyric Ross also attended the event on Friday, April 5 to support Herman and celebrate the release of the superhero film.

The ceremony was emceed by Derrick Malbrough, known as D-Rock on Jammin’ z90’s Morton in the Morning radio show.

Herman and her “This Is Us” castmates were in high spirits as they posed for photographs on the red carpet before filling up signature theatre boxes full of their favorite candies inside Sugar Factory at Theatre Box.

Herman joined friends and family in the Chocolate Lounge for a sampling of Sugar Factory American Brasserie’s signature dishes, including Rainbow Sliders, fried macaroni and cheese pops, chicken fingers and more.

The group was laughing and enjoying the atmosphere as Herman was presented with a World Famous Sugar Factory King Kong Sundae, a towering bowl-filled with 24 scoops of ice cream covered in dark chocolate, caramel and strawberry sauces, caramelized banana, marshmallows, chocolate chip cookie chunks, a whole glazed donut, a red velvet cupcake, white chocolate strawberry curls, gummy bears, Reese’s Pieces, Oreo cookie crumbs, rainbow and chocolate sprinkles, graham cracker crumbles, waffle cones, unicorn pops, candy necklaces, whipped cream, gummy cherries and sparklers.

After the celebration, Herman and guests headed to Theatre Box’s second level to enjoy a private screening in TCL Chinese Theatres luxury dine-in cinema. The group enjoyed Sugar Factory’s Rainbow Sliders; gourmet popcorn; Tie Dye Milkshake, a vanilla milkshake topped with whipped cream, Pop Rocks, cotton candy, a candy necklace and rainbow sprinkles served in a chocolate-dipped mug covered with Skittles; and sipped on popular Sugar Factory “mocktails,” including the Ocean Blue with gummy sharks garnishing the glass
