NEW TITLES ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2023 TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL LINEUP
We’re excited to announce the latest additions to the 2023 TCM Classic Film Festival lineup. From pre-Codes, to rediscoveries of hidden gems, to fan favorites from across multiple decades, the TCM Classic Film Festival offers something for every movie lover.
Three new films join our special WB100 celebration of the Warner Bros. Studio centennial. Stars Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins square off as childhood friends-turned-rivals in an 80th anniversary screening of OLD ACQUAINTANCE (1943); William Powell and Kay Francis find romance on the high seas in the Oscar-winning pre-Code drama ONE WAY PASSAGE (1932); and Edward James Olmos inspires a group of inner-city high school students in STAND AND DELIVER (1988), now in its 35th anniversary.
Plus, you don’t want to miss a special 70mm screening of the landmark disaster film AIRPORT (1970), with an all-star cast including Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, and Jacqueline Bisset. You’ll be moved by Japanese director Akira Kurosawa’s soulful drama IKIRU (1952), set in postwar Tokyo. You’ll be enchanted by a 75th anniversary screening of Powell and Pressburger’s tale of love and artistic obsession, THE RED SHOES (1948). And as for pre-Code Hollywood, it doesn’t get much better than star Claudette Colbert, who infiltrates the mob to save costar Melvyn Douglas in THE WISER SEX (1932).
Passes for the 2023 TCM Classic Film Festival are still available, but supplies are limited! Don’t miss your chance to join classic movie fans from around the globe in enjoying these films and many more on the big screen in the heart of Hollywood!
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements in the coming weeks!
