Day Three Honors Women of Sundance, Powerful Films Get Audiences to Their Feet
“56% of the feature films [that premiered at the Festival] were directed by women this year, and if that sounds like a lot, it’s because it is,” Sundance Institute CEO Joana Vicente said this to a crowded, cheering room at the Women at Sundance celebration yesterday, which took place at the Box at the Ray in Park City. Festivalgoers flooded theaters for groundbreaking films, including Beyond Utopia and The Persian Version. Both films were met with standing ovations by emotional audience members.
