On Saturday, January 7th at Todd Herendeen Theater, Todd Herendeen performed a special concert in honor of Elvis Presley’s Birthday (January 8th) which he would have been 88 years old if he were alive today.
The show was sold out with two performances for January 13th and 14th. Song lineup was from Aloha from Hawaii concert broadcast January 14, 1973, with Todd wearing a white jumpsuit replica.
All I can say is I differently was at the right place at the right time last week. I recently moved to Panama City Beach to be near my daughter and granddaughters. Traveling from my storage back to my condo on the beach, I passed a theatre which I curiously had to stop and see what type of events they book. As I pulled in the parking lot a gentleman was there and I asked him. To my surprise it was Todd Herendeen the owner and performer. He continued to get a flyer for me and tell me about the upcoming shows. I was so disappointed because the Saturday night show was sold out and I am having hip replacement surgery the Thursday before the other Elvis shows. When I told Todd he must have heard the disappointment in my voice. He immediately said, “I will add a table by the stage for you and your family.” I can’t even express how grateful I was.
We even had dinner included at the Theatre before the show. My granddaughters ages 7 and 11 looked so pretty dressed in their cute dresses. The youngest granddaughter was really more interested because Elvis songs are in the movie “Lilo and Stitch.” She brought a stuffed Stitch with her. I had seen Aloha from Hawaii as a young girl on TV with my mom. Also saw Elvis in concert before he died.
Todd genuinely looked, sounded, and performed just as he was Elvis! He had several scarfs he gave out to the audience. My granddaughter and I got ours for a souvenir! I would recommend this show to every age.
Can’t wait to go to another performance after I recover. Todd Herendeen has tribute shows to the Legends of Rock & Country, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and Neil Diamond.
