his weekend on “Sunday TODAY,” Willie Geist sat down with Oscar-nominated actor Brendan Fraser who opened up about his role in “The Whale,” sharing the film with his family and his break away from Hollywood.

Reflecting on his time away from the spotlight, Fraser told Geist, “I’m a lot more comfortable in my own skin, a lot more at home. So for that, I feel so much more receptive and have gratitude for the positive attention that I’m receiving at this time. It’s really humbling.”

He also revealed a special moment he had with his 18-year-old son’s film class before the Oscar nomination, sharing, “I’m really happy that I was able to go into my 18-year-old’s film studies class just before it came out and give a sort of Q & A. They’d all gone out to see ‘The Whale’ and they’re whipsmart kids. They understand the craft of filmmaking in a way that’s so impressive….Now, Dad’s cool. We’ll see how long that lasts.”
