This includes a bag check and passing through a metal detector. We recommend that you pack light, and don’t wear any metal, in order for security to move quickly and efficiently. If you leave the Convention Center, you will be required to go through security before re-entering.

DragCon will not be checking vaccine cards for entry, however we highly encourage and recommend that if able, any attendee coming to the show is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to attending the event.

DragCon’s first priority is always the health and safety of everyone involved. Given how quickly information and safety requirements surrounding COVID-19 change, our guidelines are subject to change.

Drag Is Not Consent

RuPaul’s DragCon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free convention experience for everyone (regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion). We do not tolerate harassment of convention participants in any form. Convention participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the convention (without a refund) at the discretion of the convention organizers.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments (related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion), sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. ADA Information

RuPaul’s DragCon is dedicated to serving all of its attendees and making their experience as enjoyable and entertaining as possible. If you are an attendee with disabilities, RuPaul’s DragCon has implemented the following policies in order to provide you the best service possible.

Attendee Registration
When you arrive to register, please go to the VIP/ADA registration counter, located in the South Hall lobby. Please note that the registration line is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please be patient. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask the Accessible ADA staff registration member.

At the registration counter, your ticket will be scanned and you will be given a DragCon badge for the weekend. Upon receiving the badge, please let the attendant know you also need an Accessible (ADA) wristband, and you will be given that in addition.

Your ADA wristband will allow you access to VIP areas around DragCon, including VIP lanes at queen booths. While access to VIP lanes will not allow you to skip the line, these lanes are designed to be shorter and/or move faster than GA lanes. This access is provided to minimize navigation of lines.

While on site at DragCon, if you are experiencing any difficulty or any booths are not honoring the ADA wristband access to VIP lanes, please contact [email protected] immediately or go see our attendants at the INFO booth on the show floor.

Please keep in mind that RuPaul’s DragCon cannot guarantee any seating, autographs, or giveaways. Many individual events, like Main Stage Performances, Queen’s Walk, etc, are first come first serve for all attendees, including ADA accessible viewing locations.

Wheelchairs
Motorized Mobility Devices may be used by people with mobility impairments subject to reasonable safety restrictions (e.g. exercising extra caution in busy locations such as loading docks and show floors during move-in and move-out periods). DragCon will not have wheelchair or motorized mobility devices available on site.

Guide Dogs and Service Animals
Service Animals (i.e. dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities) are welcome at the Los Angeles Convention Center — provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate. Please see the convention center’s websites for detailed information and restrictions.

Hearing Impaired Attendees
If you are an attendee in need of ASL services, we will have interpreters on site that will be available for additional support. Please ask the ADA attendant at the VIP/ADA check-in desk, where to go to check in with the interpreters.

Queen Booth Lines
When you arrive at a queen’s booth, please notify the staff member running their booth and they will accommodate your line entry. If there is a DragCon floor manager nearby(they’ll be wearing a pink STAFF shirt), you can also ask them for assistance. Your ADA wristband will allow you access to the VIP lanes at queen booths. While access to VIP lanes will not allow you to skip the line and does not guarantee a “no wait” time, these lanes are designed to be shorter and/or move faster than GA lanes. This access is provided to minimize navigation of lines.

While on site at DragCon, if you are experiencing any difficulty or any booths are not honoring the ADA wristband access to VIP lanes, please contact [email protected] immediately or go see our attendants at the INFO booth on the show floor.

Medication
If you have medication or special needs that needs refrigeration, please be aware that neither RuPaul’s DragCon can provide refrigerators. You should bring a cooler or insulated bag to accommodate your own needs.

Please take care to plan your day in advance.

It’s not mandatory – but you are more than welcome to come in drag, whatever that means to you!

Feel free to wear the most glamorous outfit in your closet, the most comfortable outfit in your closet, or anything in between.

Please do keep in mind when planning your outfits for the weekend, that DragCon is an all-ages event and the convention center is a public space that expects all attendees, exhibitors, contractors, and participants to abide by common-sense rules for public behavior, including getting dressed for the day. Make sure those behinds aren’t just padded, but covered up too

Oh, and pack comfortable shoes! Heels look killer until they’re killing your feet. Try to wear comfortable shoes, or bring some with you. You’re gonna be doing a ton of walking!
