Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 5/7/23- Haitian-born artist and Kompa music superstar Florence El Luche teams up with veteran hip-hop star Trina, releasing a new single entitled “Bounce Dat.” The single was released on Friday and has already made its way to the number six slot on the US Hip Hop iTunes Charts, with the music video reaching over a million views on YouTube.
Both ladies have appeared on Love & Hip Hop Miami, so the collaboration didn’t come as too much of a surprise to loyal fans of the show. According to a recent press release, the song was inspired by both women’s Caribbean roots (Casual Trophies). The lyrics are nostalgic, giving listeners early 2000s vibes with provocatively unapologetic lyrics similar to those featured on some of Trina’s earlier works (“Da Baddest B****” & “Pull Over“) which currently serve as classic Miami hip hop anthems. In addition, the ladies brought their talent into co-producing the track alongside highly regarded producers John G and Raymond Taylor.
Although Florence is well known among many music enthusiasts for her contribution to Kompa music – modern meringue dance music that infuses a mix of electric guitar, vocals, horns, and drumming. She also wanted to venture into other music genres, with hip-hop at the top of her list. She said, “I’m giving myself the space to be creative as an artist. I love Kompa, but there are no rules in music. So, I’m having fun!” This is why it was perfect for her to do this collab with Trina, who has always been a woman to live by her own set of rules, leading her to the top of a highly male-dominated industry.
