11th Annual Ed Asner & Friends Celebrity Poker Tournament Raises Over $186k for The Ed Asner Family Center Programs
Some of the biggest names in TV and Film came out in force on June 3rd to ante up their support for The Ed Asner Family Center when the 11th annual Ed Asner & Friends Celebrity Poker Night event happened at Radford Studio’s where classic TV shows Lou Grant and The Mary Tyler Moore Show were shot. Star filled poker tables were set up on Radford’s famed New York Street where guests enjoyed rounds of poker and dug into special Pink’s Hot Dogs including vegan dogs and the Ed Asner Dogs that were filled to the brim with pastrami, cheese, and chili.
Celebs who played in the tournament included: Tom Arnold (Roseanne), Evan Handler (Sex in the City), Eric Palladino (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), William Stanford Davis (Abbott Elementary), Mimi Rogers (Bosch), Maureen McCormick (The Brady Bunch), Eric Roberts (King of Gypsies), Clancy Brown (Voice of Mr. Krabs on Spongebob Squarepants), Joely Fisher (Actress), Ron Funches (comedian), Phil LaMarr (MadTV) Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3), Erin Murphy (Bewitched), Rodney Peete (Former NFL), Sue Ann Pien (As We See It), Daniel Ross (Voice of Donald Duck), Alison Triessl (Access Hollywood/KTLA), Steven Weber (Wings) and Mark Thompson, a beloved Los Angeles area radio and TV personality, acted as MC for the event.

Over $186,000 was raised for the Ed Asner Family Center, founded by Ed Asner’s son, Matthew and his wife Navah Paskowitz-Asner which will help The Ed Asner Family Center provide low-cost mental health counseling services, expressive art enrichments, seasonal camps, unique adult relationship courses as well as support groups for neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals and their families. The Asner’s, who have 3 autistic children, founded the center to fulfill the needs of families like theirs.
