Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 6/6/23- This past Friday wrapped up the first day of Outfest’s television fan festival, the excitement only continued to grow. The virtual panels had been a hit, with fans tuning in from around the world to watch their favorite shows and stars discuss everything from LGBTQ representation to the challenges of filming during a pandemic.

Now, as the festival entered its last couple of days, the lineup was just as impressive. Among the highlights were panels for 911: Lone Star, The Other Two, and Cancel Your Gays – three shows that had made a significant impact in the LGBTQ+ community.

The 911: Lone Star panel featured stars Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler, along with creator Ryan Murphy, discussing the show’s groundbreaking representation of queer characters and themes. They talked about the importance of telling stories that reflect the diversity of the world we live in, and the challenges that come with doing so in a mainstream network series.

The Other Two panel brought together creators Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, along with stars Drew Tarver and Heléne Yorke, to talk about the show’s hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of two siblings navigating the world of showbiz. They also discussed the show’s queer themes, including a memorable storyline involving a gay romance that went viral on social media.

Finally, the Cancel Your Gays panel tackled the controversial topic of LGBTQ representation in media, and the harmful trend of killing off queer characters for shock value. The panel featured several LGBTQ activists and media experts, who shared their perspectives on the issue and called for more responsible and inclusive storytelling.

As the panels came to a close, fans were left buzzing with excitement and anticipation for what’s next. Outfest has once again delivered a celebration of LGBTQ+ representation and culture, leaving the world watching and listening.
