Palm Springs (The Hollywood Times) 07/09/2023 – Frank Sinatra was arguably the most iconic star to call Palm Springs home. ‘Sinatra in Palm Springs’ directed by Leo Zahn gives us a fascinating glimpse into his life. For some, it will be a walk down memory lane, but even for a younger generation, this movie gives us a captivating look into a young, very glamorous Palm Springs.

Today, Palm Springs is alive with art, architecture, culture and a history of being the playground of Hollywood royalty since the 40’s. ‘Sinatra in Palm Springs’ is not only an award-winning feature length film, but it is an adventure back into the era of the Rat Pack, Sinatra’s loves, party lifestyle and fabulous homes in the Coachella Valley. Through the lens of Leo Zahn, this well-known celebrity hideout comes to life. The film is rich with film archives as well as exclusive interviews with his wife Barbara and the many local business owners and longtime friends who knew him well. The footage of the three homes he personally created exemplify the modernism style that has become synonymous with Palm Springs.

Sinatra in Palm Springs’ captures the celebrities, presidents, and mob elite that stayed with him, his wives, Ava Gardner, Mia Farrow and Barbara Marx and the 3 stunning homes he called home from 1948-1995. His well-known passionate love affairs, explosive temper and wild parties are told by his cohorts, but also his surprising generosity and philanthropy to complete strangers; paying medical bills, starting foundations, helping people whose homes were destroyed. The public and the press were not privy, and Sinatra kept much of this anonymous.
