Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 7/15/23 – Talk about HIGH VIBE country music and affecting Humanity at their heart center one note at a time! I’m talking about Wyatt Flores, the twenty-one-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist from the small town of Stillwater, Oklahoma with over 286K followers on TikTok. Flores brings people closer together with stories of his personal trials and tribulations, his loves and his heartbreaks, his losses and his triumphs. You know those kinds of experiences that everyone can relate to on the path of The Human Journey. The energy of connectedness was palpable on Thursday night at the El Rey Theater! The crowd danced and belted the lyrics along with Flores as he shared his personal journey on stage in front of hundreds of fans backed by his full band for the first time performing in Los Angeles.
Enjoy our interview with Wyatt and some of his performance at El Rey Theater.
In the summer of 2022, Flores left his hometown and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue his career in music full time. He knew that there was something bigger for him; a bigger purpose – to share his stories and uplift people who needed hope.
“It all started with ‘Traveling Kid.’ I kinda wrote out my future and didn’t realize it and all of these other songs just came in from personal experiences,” Flores explained about his whirlwind launch to fame.
While reflecting about the fact that he “wrote down his future in lyrics”, basically supporting the notion that he is a powerful Manifestor, Flores enthusiastically responded, “Apparently!! I didn’t expect it to happen. I wrote ‘Traveling Kid’ in about thirty minutes. And it was right before I was going to play my first actual show getting paid. And now I’m living the actual dream!” To be exact, currently, Flores and his band are traveling North up the coast of California opening at wall-to-wall packed venues for Charles Welsey Godwin.
Flores’ sound is described as being “somewhere between Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson and Caamp. He tells his stories in his own way and craves authenticity in his lyrics, collaboration and sound.”
“I guess I’ve just been on a journey myself. I’m just trying to do better and spread happiness as best as possible. And spread a message through the Darkness. Letting people know that just because you’re going through the Darkness does not mean you’ll always be there. And there’s always a happier message at the end of it.”
What is Flores manifesting next? “That’s a tough one. After this album, which is all just the stories of where I was back then, up until this point. It’s just a lot of stories to catch people up. I view this album as being the introduction of who I am and what I’m going after and everything like that. And just the chase…” he pauses thoughtfully, “for Greatness. The next album I feel like I’ll have a deeper connection with a lot of other spiritual things because it’s tuning into more Life and Death topics.”
I asked Flores about how his fans responded to the ‘real life, vulnerable topics and lyrics’ within his songs. He said, “They’re very open to it. And I’m very happy about it. I’ve been lucky enough to have fan engagements where they’ll tell me everything. Like I’m their friend. And that’s an honor. When someone can cut off a piece of their heart and share it with you right there in the moment having never met you before — I’m livin’ for that!”
