Seattle, WA (The Hollywood Times) 7/6/23 – Peacock is back with an all-new gripping and gritty documentary series tackling one of America’s most infamous serial killings, the Zodiac. The Zodiac is credited with five murders throughout the late ’60s. They taunted police and the public with threats of violence, anonymous phone calls, and most famously cryptic ciphers supposedly leading to his or Hers true identity and motivation. For decades detectives, web sleuths, and surviving family members have wondered who or what the Zodiac was. The Documentary proposes a new theory, what if the Zodiac didn’t exist?
Professor Thomas Henry Horan believes exactly that. Motivated by a sense of needing justice for the families, and his own experience with a friend’s murder, he uses his experience as an insurance investigator, journalist, and bank fraud investigator to explore a side of the Zodiac that until now no one had considered. Teaming up with renowned documentary maker Andrew Nock the two set out to not only poke holes but prove that the Zodiac was not whom they said they were.
The documentary dives deep into the story, interviewing detectives, surviving members of the victims, and even potential suspects which come to a shocking conclusion. The team works in tandem to find motives for each killing where motives previously didn’t exist, and painstakingly recreating crime scenes based on original police evidence to determine what truly happened in northern California during those fateful years. Were the murders connected? Were the letters a work of a crazed writer capitalizing on the fear? Or was it truly one man dealing out his own version of fury? Watch on July 11th on Peacock to see the story unfold for itself and figure out if the Zodiac was a person or was simply a myth.
