13th Annual World Choreography Awards Nominees Announced 2023 Awards Slated for Sunday, November 5th at the Avalon Hollywood

The 2023 World Choreography Awards celebrate the world’s most innovative choreographers with over 40 clips and live performances from eight categories: Motion Picture, Music Video, Television Reality Show/Competition, Television Award Show/Special, Television Episodic, Commercials, Digital Content, and Digital Content Independent – (Exclusive Nominee List Available)
The Choreo Awards, known as the “Oscars of Dance”, celebrate the world’s best media choreographers in dance every year. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the very best dance content in the world on one stage for one night only,” explains Founder and Producer Allen Walls.
The 2023 Awards will be held Sunday, November 5, at the Avalon Hollywood, at 8pm.
This year’s nominees include three-time Emmy Award winner Derek Hough, nominated for his choreography, in 3 three categories. Television Award Show/Special, for Step Into The Movies, Television Reality Show/Competition, for work on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, Michael Bublé, Higher and the Music Video category, also for Michael Bublé, Higher. In the Motion Picture category Director/Choreographer, Adam Shankman is nominated for his choreography on Disenchanted, as well as Director/Choreographer Jamal Sims, for his choreography on, 13 The Musical. Ellen Kane is also nominated for her choreography on Netflix’s, Matilda the Musical.
Also nominated are Mark Ballas, who won last year’s season of Dancing with The Stars, dancing with his partner Charli D’Amelio. As well as Kyle Hanagami, for his choreography in the Television Award Show/Special category, and Choreographer/ Dance Influencer, Matt Steffanina, in the Music Video category and last year’s winner of Americas Got Talent, the Mayyas, choreographed by Nadim Cherfan.
This year the WCA is thrilled to be honoring legendary Director/ Choreographer, Kenny Ortega, with the Legacy Honor, for his astonishing career spanning over six decades.
Also slated to choreograph an epic performance is Director/ Choreographer Anthony W. Johnson.
