Los Angeles, California (The Hollywood Times) 11/16/2023
Thanks to Ashley, Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, the Hollywood Times was invited to preview the L.A. Zoo Lights: Animals Aglow and we brought the whole family and 5 year old Grandson Max. We all just loved it so much and so will you and your entire family. Don’t miss your opportunity to start off your holiday spirit with these amazing animal sculptures. There were other invited members of the press, VIP, and employees and their families. It was awesome, spectacular, colorful and breathtaking all in one. We all just loved it so much and so will you and your entire family. Don’t miss your opportunity to start off your holiday spirit with these amazing animal sculptures.
The press gathered just past the entrance to wait for the official countdown to kick-off the seasonal event and celebratory remarks by L.A. Zoo CEO and Director Denise Verret, GLAZA Interim President Dawn Peterson-Amend, and U.S. Bank Regional Banking Director and GLAZA Board Member Vivian Chow. The crowd gave the women their attention during their welcome speeches. The sky above the Los Angeles Zoo was dark, with some wonderful cloud coverage and half a moon and then the countdown started, the switch was thrown and the lights came on! Just a jaw-dropping experience! We have included a video that starts off with L.A. Zoo CEO and Director Denise Verret welcoming everyone and then the actual lighting of the animal tree. Plus a few other videos put together of what we saw. You have to come see it in person to experience the wonder of it all and help support the L.A. Zoo too!
We headed up the walkway and was delighted with fish in the trees and mischievous otters and bubble too! There are so many different animal sculptures you just can’t believe how amazing they look with such detail and color too.
We really enjoyed the “Roast Your Own S’Mores. That was way cool and they had hot chocolate and churros as well.
