New Jersey (The Hollywood Times) 1/5/23 – I haven’t written in a while, and I wanted to make my return, but I wasn’t sure how it would ever happen since I have been working so hard on producing music videos in 2023. My intentions are to not lie and to never hurt anyone. That is a hard thing to do when making moves in the entertainment industry. I never deal in lies. Never. This is a hard thing to live by when the industry seems to be built on lies. What does that really mean though? What I mean is that when writing or introducing something new it is coming from a perspective of one’s own mind. No one can write what I am writing except for me. This is not Artificially A.I., and this is all intellectual.

I thought it would be cool to write about the song I have been listening to the most in 2023. I have been listening to MOBY more than any other artist in 2023. It is now 2024 and I am not sure who will be the most listened to artist this year. If you told me that I would be listening to Moby in 2023 I would have called, you a liar. As a white hip-hop fan, I of course love Eminem. However, once I met Young Zee, Eminem was no longer my favorite MC.

Moby has a song called Porcelain that I absolutely love. I play it on YouTube at .75 playback speed or I even listen to a slowed down reverb version on YouTube. Listening to music at a slowed down version has changed my whole perspective on writing, music, and how my ears work. I can really think more clearly when it is at .75 playback speed, and I can fit in more words at once in my mind and not be pressured to deliver a thought fast. Music at regular speed is good for dancing but when I’m thinking about something I have noticed how much more I enjoy the song being played at a slower speed.

The thing that also fascinates me about Moby is that he appears as himself as a teacher on Jim Carey’s tv show Just Kidding. Moby was also in a controversy when he talked about Natalie Portman in his book several years ago. He issued an apology to her later. I posted a rolling stone article about it below.

As usual I have dropped some links below for you to check out Porcelain by Moby and some other articles that have been written about Moby in the past. Please feel free to write to me on Instagram @stilesfly and let me know what song was your most listened to during the 2023 year!
