Houston, TX – Amber k. Goodwin, the founding director of the Community Justice Action Fund and a leading voice in the gun violence prevention space, will takeover Hailey Bieber’s Instagram account on Tuesday, March 16.

“After such a terrible time dealing with the historic and deadly winter storm in Texas, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I would have an opportunity to share my work and vision for gun violence prevention with Mrs. Bieber’s audience,” Goodwin said. “This is an opportunity to elevate the work of directly impacted communities, including women. There is a ton of work being done to make our communities safer and this will be a wonderful platform to highlight such efforts.”

Throughout Black History Month and Women’s History Month, Hailey Bieber has featured and honored inspiring leaders such as physician Uche Blackstock, activist Nse Ufot of the New Georgia Project, Desmond Meade of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, Amanda Nguyen an activist and sexual abuse survivor and many more. The selection of Goodwin is recognized for her contributions to end gun violence, her support of directly impacted communities, and advocacy for women’s leadership.

By way of background, Goodwin is the Founding Director of the Community Justice Action Fund (CJAF) and the Community Justice Reform Coalition (CJRC). CJAF is the nation’s leading gun violence prevention organization advancing policy, education, leadership development, and building resources centered on communities of color. CJAF is the only national gun violence policy organization led by a woman of color. It is proud to be led by a governing board made up of 100% survivors of color.

During the takeover, Bieber will encourage her followers to follow Goodwin and the Community Justice Action Fund and support their work.
